I just luv this lamp, it’s so 50′s retro yet so very moder. I luv this slim but larger black lampshade with the slenderly sleek base in white. A fabulous contrast of black and white together. Scandinavian Modern Home – My New Favorite Book
I was perusing the local bookstore on my lunch hour (as I often do) and came across this wonderful book on modern home style, the Scandinavian way! The cover alone is gorgeous, but really (I know, you can’t judge a book by it’s cover), but it was a nice preview to what I found inside. It has beautiful photos of gorgeous modern Scandinavian decor. It’s a great book on Scandinavian history, it details by regional variations such as Danish, Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian. Then, in the directory, goes by each designer and their famous designs. There is so much to go through, you can learn about the famous Egg Chair, Tulip Chair, Womb Chair and so many more. There are textile designs, glassware, lighting and more.
It’s amazing how many of these gorgeous creations are from early to mid 1900′s and they are still in style to this day. Shows what great design can do. This is one of my new favorite books and I know I will be referencing it for years to come. Don’t you just luv a good find!
