{Blog} Holley & Gill

I think I’ve found my online blogging decor bff’s, everything I’ve found on this blog I absolutely luv!!!   Holley & Gill is the blog name and they’re Canadian too, how lovely.  I discovered their blog via twitter the other day and it was instant blog luv.

About

Holley & Gill is a Montreal based design office led by Conrad Buck and Michelle Carangi. Buck and Carangi bring together two distinct approaches and disciplines to their work. While Carangi’s artistic work is strongly influenced by her fine arts background amalgamated with modern design, Buck’s work is driven by product development, marketing and branding.Together, this partnership forms the solid basis that is Holley & Gill.

Here are just a sample of the recent amazing posts:

From Art in Architecture, isn’t this beautiful.  It’s always been my dream to own a home similar to this with the garden in the middle, so very zen.

I think their post Are you practical in your style? is oh-so-clever.  Yes I’m one of those people who would buy something more for it’s beauty than it’s practicality.  If it adds that special something to my decor, I would definitely add it, whether it’s practical or not.  It’s the same thing as buying that gorgeous pair of shoes that make your outfit but may not be the most comfortable shoes to wear.

They also sell beautifully made head boards via their Etsy shop, displayed below is their headboard called  “Beaux Reves” in dark brown and ivory, it means “sweet dreams”.

That’s just a minuscule sample, there is so much more to discover.  I’ve added them to my official blogroll, this site is a definite keeper!

{Blog Spotlight} Made By Girl Blog

I’m always on the hunt for lovely decor blogs and I am a fan of Made By Girl blog

This blog is owned by Jen Ramos and we have very similar tastes and love reading her latest finds.  I am so amazed to this day by perusing the Internet you can find people with the same style and interests, it’s fantastic.

Jen is a graphic designer and runs her own business online at Made By Girl shop and also has a store on Etsy

I have always wanted to run my own business and so in 2007, I launched MadeByGirl.  We create paper goods and typographical posters and sell them to customers all over the world from California to Australia to France.

MadeByGirl also hopes to inspire earth friendly and ecologically conscious choices – most of our cards and prints are made using recycled and PCW paper with water based inks.  We hope that our choices will inspire our customers to make the same decisions to embrace recycling and reuse to help nurture our planet.

Here are pictures from her own beautiful home, it’s a very clean design, so very my style.

Discovering New Design Blogs

I thought I’d share my little blog discoveries today, as usual I end up stumbling on new sites all the time and I really should start telling you all about them more often which now I vow to do.  I think it’s great to share the luv.

LGNbutton-1The first site, is really how my hunt started searching for lacquer boxes, is called Little Green Notebook, it’s quite a great site and I found out a neat diy project to make my own boxes.  The blog is owned by Jenny who writes about her decorating projects and is running her own decorating business while married and raising three girls (you go girl!).

I think her diy project to make your own storage boxes turned out really well.  Here is the end result of her project, click here to see the step by steps to make your own.

At the same time, I read one of Jenny’s post about a site called Good Bones, Great Pieces… it’s a great blog from a mother/daughter design duo, check out these inspirational decorating photos, simple yet chic.  They decorated this apartment in Brooklyn Heights together and it was also featured in Traditional Home.
